Yes ... Lynne, I am loving Sarah Young's little book, JESUS CALLING! I got 2 copies for Christmas - I use 1 every day at home and keep another at the counseling office where I read selected passages that have made a big impact on my life to my clients.

This is one of many that have already hit home for me -

Your welcome, Lynne, and thanks much for your kind words. One of the devotionals I have is "God Calling" Is yours edited by AJ Russell? All we can do each day is hold His hand and follow. And when we stumble, we confess, make amends and move on...ever seeKing Him. God bless you!

Thanks for sharing Sheila. You are lucky you can express yourself the way you do, it's inspiring. Your message today reminds me of a daily devotional that I read each morning entitled "Jesus Calling". The first sentence for today Feb 22 reads, "You need Me every moment, your awareness of Me is your greatest strength"...I try each day to reach out and hold God's hand and be led. This verse refers to 1 Thessalonians 5.

Thank you, Brad, for your thoughts. I hope your friend's dismissal was bathed in tears of love with an unquenchable desire for his soon return, hoping that the loss of fellowship would partner with the Holy Spirit in affecting him in the most redemptive means possible.

the life of a disciple is one where seemingly competing ideas are held in tension. I have a close friend who was just dismissed from our church because while growing in some areas of his life, he was stumbling badly (and pretty un-repentantly) in others. Though I know he is saved, he needs restoration and repentance in his life during this season.
